The Software Support Specialist will perform a variety of business software and IT support activities including technical support and training for Northern staff. The Software Support Specialist will provide technical support, expertise, and training to assist internal staff on the company’s ERP software (Infor CloudSuite Distribution (CSD)) among other systems.

Our headquarters, manufacturing facility, and primary distribution facility is located in Willmar, Minnesota with 18 regional distribution centers located throughout the U.S.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly and timely technical support to minimize downtime of internal Northern staff. 
  • Train staff on the approved use of software systems. 
  • Setup and configure systems according to company requirements. Assist with data conversions. 
  • Develop reports and dashboards utilizing the software tools. 
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting using command prompt diagnostics. 
  • Identify and complete creative solutions for processes that aren’t fully accomplished by standard Infor CSD (ERP system) functionality.
  • Problem solving to identify and troubleshoot questions and issues effectively and efficiently. 
  • Perform and/or assist with scheduled maintenance.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in PC technology or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have previous help desk and software technician experience. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude to learn and support new systems and applications. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. A MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Expert certification preferred, but not required.
  • Must have experience in Windows OS. 
  • Past experience in Infor CloudSuite Distribution (CSD) preferred, but not required. 
  • Due to the confidential nature of the position, candidates must complete and successfully pass a criminal background check.
